Worship With Us

Sunday Morning @ 10:30 AM  (9:30 AM June 9 to September 1)

40 East Orange Street, Lancaster, PA  17602

Worship begins at 10:30 on Sunday mornings (9:30 in the summer). Access to the sanctuary can be from the front sidewalk through the tall double doors on East Orange Street or from Christian Street through the courtyard doors.  Accessible doors are accessed on the east side of the building off of Orange Street.

Worship is a come as you are occasion. Jesus didn’t care how you dressed and neither do we.

You should expect to be greeted at the doors of the sanctuary, and welcome packets are available in the pews. Please take the packet home with you! Other members of the church will likely welcome you and the pastor may even drop by to say hello!

Children arriving with parents or guardians and stay in the worship service until a children's time, when they are dismissed for children's church. Children’s church is held downstairs in spaces adjacent to Harbaugh Hall, our fellowship space.

Following worship is a time fellowship, a social gathering time and opportunity to get some light refreshments and purchase some gift cards (which actually helps out the church).

As an Open and Affirming congregation, we welcome people of different color, sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions, and individuals with developmental, intellectual, or physical disabilities into our worship space. No matter who you are, no matter where you are on life's journey, no matter who you are with, no matter how you identify, you are welcome at First Reformed United Church of Christ.

We extend a special welcome to those who are single, married, divorced, widowed, gay, filthy rich, comfortable, or dirt poor.

We extend a special welcome to wailing babies and excited toddlers.

We welcome you whether you can sing like Pavarotti or just growl quietly to yourself. You’re welcome here if your “just browsing,” just woken up, or just got out of prison. We don’t care if you’re more Christian than the Archbishop of Canterbury, or haven’t been to church since Christmas ten years ago.

We extend a special welcome to those who are over 60 but haven’t grown up yet, and to teenagers who are growing up too fast. We welcome keep-fit moms, football dads, starving artists, tree-huggers, latte-sippers, vegetarians, junk-food eaters. We welcome those who are in recovery or still addicted. We welcome you if you are having problems, are down in the dumps, or don’t like organized religion. (We’re not too keen on it either.)

We offer a welcome to those who think the earth is flat, work too hard, don’t work, can’t spell, or are here because granny is visiting and wanted to come to church.
