First Friday “Organic Reflections” Concert

First Reformed Church of Lancaster will present a free 30 minute concert by guest organist Ken Krause on First Friday, March 6 at 8 PM.  The program, “Lenten Meditations” will feature works by Paul Manz, Phil Lehenbauer, and Paul Fey.  The concert will conclude with “Sonata da Chiesa” by the late Gordon Young, who had previously served as organist at First Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Krause is an organ builder with Columbia Organ Works and organist at Saint John Lutheran Church.  

Gordon Young’s “Sonata da Chiesa” will be performed by organist Ken Krause on First Friday, March 6 at First Reformed Church of Lancaster.  The late Gordon Young was an organist in Lancaster at First Presbyterian Church.

Every First Friday, First Reformed Church opens the doors to its historic 1854 domed sanctuary to the public for a concert on the Hill Byrne/Christiansen Memorial Organ.  The First Friday “Organic Reflections” concert series is a gift to the community from First Reformed Church, a center city congregation of the United Church of Christ. Only 30 minutes in length, the free concerts begin at 8 PM each First Friday for the convenience of those who wish to spend the early evening visiting downtown galleries before the concert. Doors open at 7:30 pm. All are welcome to hear 30 minutes of majestic music that will refresh your soul and inspire your spirit.
