Welcome to First Reformed Church UCC
A Church for the CityFirst Reformed Church, a center city congregation of the United Church of Christ, gathered together in 1729 from German, Swiss and French settlers. Its members built the first church in the city in 1736. Since then, spiritual travelers joined together by their belief in God as Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer have been preparing for your arrival. We tend to be theologically progressive, ecologically friendly, sociologically outgoing, financially conservative and find that our service to the city speaks above all “ologies” with acts of hospitality and hope. We are unapologically inclusive of ALL people and declare ourselves Open and Affirming (ONA), the phrase The United Church of Christ uses to communicate our intentional and unconditional inclusively of people of different sexual orientations. No matter who you are, no matter where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here at First Reformed, United Church of Christ. Our MissionTo strengthen the members of our congregation through Christ-centered training, equipping and nurturing for personal living and ministry to the city and the world.
